What is Baby Corn?

Baby Corn is maize harvested early, before the cobs reach maturity. Also known as young corn, cornlets or baby sweetcorn, the small, slender cobs are eaten whole, either raw or cooked.

The specified cobs measure 60–110mm long and 10–20mm in diameter at the base. The confirmed case format contains 12 overwrapped 80g trays, providing a minimum net weight of 960g per case.

Taste & texture

Mild Flavour. Delicate Crunch.

Baby Corn has a mild, subtly sweet corn flavour, making it useful with aromatic sauces, spices and dressings.

Its small, immature cob is tender enough to eat whole, with a pleasant bite that works especially well in quick-cooked dishes.

From preparation to plate

One vegetable. Plenty of possibilities.

Whole Baby Corn is a versatile ingredient for foodservice kitchens, produce retailers and wholesale customers, suited to quick-cooked Asian dishes and a range of salads and vegetable sides.

Rinse thoroughly before use. Serve raw where appropriate or cook by stir-frying, steaming, blanching, roasting or adding to sauces. Follow applicable food-safety handling practices.
