The commission sales model
Active UK sales support. No long-term lock-in
The foundation of everything we do is how we bring product into the UK market. We have developed three distinct sourcing models, each designed to suit a different type of grower or supplier relationship. Rather than applying a one-size-fits-all approach, we work within whichever model best fits the grower's situation, capability and commercial objectives.

Simple, transparent sales support on your terms
How commission sales works
Three straightforward steps from product availability through to payment — with full transparency at every stage.
You advise on availability
You let us know what product you have available — variety, volume, quality specification, packaging and your target price range. We assess it against current UK market conditions and advise on realistic pricing and timing. If it's a fit, we agree the terms for that shipment and proceed.
We sell at market prices
We take your product to market using our buyer relationships and knowledge of current UK pricing conditions. We sell at the best available price within the parameters agreed with you — always within the range you have set and always with your commercial interests in mind. You don't need to negotiate with buyers or manage client communication — we handle all of that.
We return a full account
Once the sale is completed we produce a full account sales return — detailing what was sold, to which buyer, at what price, the commission deducted and the net amount owed to you. Payment follows promptly. There are no hidden deductions and no charges beyond the agreed commission on the sale value.
Who commission sales suits
The right fit for the right situation
Commission sales is not a one-size-fits-all arrangement — it suits specific situations and supplier profiles. If any of the following describe your position, commission sales is likely the right starting point.
It is also a natural stepping stone. Many of our represented growers began with commission sales — it gives both sides the opportunity to understand the relationship, assess the product's performance in the UK market and build the commercial trust that a full representation arrangement requires.

You have product available but are not yet ready to commit to an exclusive, long-term representation arrangement with a single UK partner
You are an established supplier looking for active UK sales support on specific product lines or seasonal volumes without restructuring your existing commercial arrangements
You want to test the UK market for a new product or variety before committing to a structured supply programme or representation agreement
You have surplus or overflow volumes that need to be moved professionally and at market prices without disrupting your primary commercial relationships
You want to work with Produce Market on a trial basis before deciding whether full representation is the right long-term model for your UK commercial development

Clear, Transparent and Accountable
How Account Sales Works
Every commission sale is followed by a full account sales return — a structured report that gives you complete visibility of what happened with your product in the UK market. There are no verbal summaries and no approximate figures — every sale is documented clearly and returned to you promptly.
The account sales return covers the buyer, the volume sold, the price achieved, the commission deducted and the net amount owed to you. It is produced on a per-transaction basis so you always have an accurate, up-to-date picture of your UK sales performance without needing to ask for it.
We believe transparency on commercial returns is non-negotiable. You should always know exactly what your product sold for and exactly what you are owed — and the account sales return is how we make that happen.

Common questions
Commission Sales FAQs
Answers to the most common questions about how commission sales works, who it suits and how it compares to grower representation
What is the difference between commission sales and representation?
Representation ModelCommission sales is a flexible, non-exclusive arrangement where we sell your product on your behalf and take a commission on completed sales. Representation is a structured, exclusive model where we manage your full UK commercial presence on an ongoing basis for a fixed 8% commission. Commission sales suits suppliers who need active sales support without long-term commitment; representation suits growers who want a complete, managed UK commercial operation.
Do I have to supply continuously to use commission sales?
Get In TouchNo. Commission sales operates on a shipment-by-shipment basis. You advise us when you have product available, we agree the terms for that shipment and proceed. There is no obligation to supply continuously and no minimum volume commitment. You use our sales capability when it suits you.
How is the sale price determined?
How We WorkWe sell at current UK market prices within the pricing range you agree with us before the shipment. We do not sell below your agreed minimum without coming back to you first. Our aim is always to achieve the best available price for your product given current market conditions, buyer demand and the quality and specification of what you have supplied.
What does the account sales return include?
Get In TouchThe account sales return details the product sold, the volume, the buyer, the price achieved, the commission deducted and the net amount owed to you. It is produced per transaction and returned to you promptly following each completed sale. There are no hidden deductions and no charges beyond the agreed commission.
Can commission sales lead to full representation?
Representation ModelYes, and it often does. Commission sales is a natural starting point for growers who want to understand how their product performs in the UK market and build a commercial relationship with Produce Market before committing to a full representation arrangement. Many of our represented growers began with commission sales.
Is there a minimum volume requirement for commission sales?
Get in TouchThere is no formal minimum volume threshold for commission sales. However, volumes need to be commercially viable — small quantities that do not justify the logistics and sales effort involved are unlikely to be a good fit. We are happy to discuss your specific situation and advise on whether commission sales makes commercial sense for the volumes you have available.
