What Are Baby Gems (Round Courgettes)?
Baby Gems are small, rounded forms of courgette, part of the summer squash group within Cucurbita pepo. Unlike long baby courgettes, these compact fruits have a rounded to oval form and smooth green skin with natural variation in colour.
They are used by professional kitchens where individual portions and distinctive vegetable shapes matter. The intact fruit can be roasted, hollowed for stuffing, halved or sliced.
