What is Mooli?
Mooli, also called Daikon or white radish, is a long root vegetable in the brassica family. Beneath its smooth, pale skin is firm, crisp white flesh.
Widely used in Indian, Chinese, Japanese and Korean cooking, Mooli can be served raw, pickled or cooked. Our wholesale x15 cases are offered in 450g+, 600g+ and 800g+ root grades, subject to availability.
Taste & texture
Mild flavour. Refreshing crunch.
Mooli has a fresh, mildly peppery flavour with a subtle sweetness, similar to other radishes but generally milder.
Its white flesh is juicy and crisp when raw, becoming tender and sweeter when cooked. It works well in both fresh preparations and warm dishes.
From preparation to plate
One vegetable. Plenty of possibilities.
Mooli is commonly used in salads, slaws, pickles, stir-fries, curries and soups, adding refreshing crunch when raw and delicate sweetness when cooked.
Preparation: Wash thoroughly before use. Peel as required, then slice, grate, shred or dice.
